CAD/CAM/CNC can be challenging to learn, and even more challenging to teach. QuickPart 3D gives students a fast, easy way to design and cut complex surfaces, scanned artwork and more. Even more importantly, it keeps them focused on learning the principles of CAD/CAM while they make parts and have fun doing it.

Engrave 2D

Terminology and processes are taught while the students design and produce sophisticated engravings. The software guides them through the entire process from geometry creation to finished NC code.

Engrave 3D

Engrave 3D gives you the effect of classic hand carved art using your CNC machine. This process produces sharp inside corners, giving the artwork a crisp edge which is unachievable with standard flat and ball cutters. This new toolpath routine directs a V cutter to taper from the floor of the stock to the surface on any inside corner. Although the effect is sophisticated, the implementation is extremely simple.

Surface

QuickPart 3D allows students to pick, place, rotate and scale 3D surface art from libraries to instantly create complex surface models. They can select completed images or build an image from multiple parts. Text can be easily typed to create complex surfaced letters from a 3D font library.

Raster to Vector Translator

The Rast2Vec feature allows you to convert scanned raster art into machine-ready vector geometry to engrave. You can now scan your school logo or a student's original artwork straight into Mastercam. The filter/smoothing function reduces high entity counts for easy manipulation. The EPS/AI translator automatically brings in graphic files from CorelDRAW® and Adobe® Illustrator® into Mastercam as geometry.

Classic Design Art Library

The Classic Design Art Library includes 5000 pieces of quality machinable art. This art has already been converted into the Mastercam native MC9 format so it is ready to use. Some categories of art include: classic design elements, nature symbols and official signs and icons.

Text 3D

Text 3D allows students to select 2D or 3D fonts from libraries and type them directly into Mastercam as geometry. Students may also create surfaced art or letters. Text 3D instantly generates radius or angled surfaces from 2D art or stick letters. Users can select a stick font, customize its 3D shape and automatically generate the entire font.
