In-House Solutions offers unsurpassed industrial training for Mastercam. Training facilities are located in Ontario, Canada; Cambridge and Mississauga. Training is also available in Surrey, British Columbia and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Mastercam X6 Wire

The course provides the student with the knowledge regarding Design and 2-axis and 4-axis wirepath creation for CNC Wire EDM.

Specific 4-axis wirepath and the required geometry creation can be included upon request.

You will become proficient in 2D design by completing a series of drawings covering the following topics: entity creation, geometry modification and transformation; create or move entities onto different levels, import and export files from other CAD systems. You will learn how to create 2-Axis contour and no-core cutting with or without taper angle, contour multiple parts with predefine start points, and wirepath verification.

Certification Training for Mastercam X6 Mill L1

Mastercam Certification provides the most thorough & comprehensive training available. At the the end of this 32 hour course, trainees will know the most efficient and effective programming methods. The course has two main components; 2D Design and 2D Toolpaths.

2D Design

During this part of the training you will complete a series of 2D drawing exercises covering the following functions: entity creation, geometry modification and transformation, create or move entities onto different levels, import and export files from other CAD systems.

2D Toolpaths

In the second part of the training, you will learn how to machine 2D parts using facing, contour, pocket, and drilling toolpaths. You will be shown how to use pocket remachining, island facing, tapered wall pocketing, and how to verify the toolpaths using a solid-based toolpath verification. You will learn how to use the 2D High Speed toolpaths which are optimized for high speed and hard milling. You will be shown how to create toolpaths using Feature Based Machining, programming milling and drilling operations on solid parts.

Certification Training for Mastercam X6 Mill L3

Mastercam Certification provides the most thorough & comprehensive training available. This course is designed for the experienced Mastercam user and provides the student with knowledge of 3D Design and 3D Toolpaths.

3D Design

During this first part of the training the topics covered include: construction plane setup, 3D wireframe geometry creation, creation of curves, geometrical, free form, and derived surface creation, manipulating surfarces, modify & analyze surfaces, shading & hide.

3D Toolpaths

You will focus on more advanced multi-surface roughing and finishing toolpaths: pocket, contour, parallel, radial, plunge, project, flowline, shallow, parallel steep, scallop, pencil, restmill and leftover. High speed toolpaths for roughing and finishing the parts will be included.

Mastercam X5 Router

In this course you will learn the fundamentals of working with Mastercam Router X5.

You will complete a series of 2D drawing exercises covering the following functions: entity creation, geometry modification and transformation, creating or moving entities onto different levels, importing bitmap images and converting to geometry. You will learn how to machine a 2D part using contour with tabs, engraving (emboss and chisel), pocket, and drilling toolpaths. You will be shown how to use contour, engraving and pocket remachining, tapered wall pocketing, and how to verify the toolpaths using a solid-based toolpath verification. You will also learn how to create different profile bits.

Mastercam X6 Update

This one day class focuses on what is new in Mastercam X6 and it is design for current Mastercam X3, X4 & X5 customers. New functions from design such as changing solid faces and feature colours, creating circles based on tap size and creating solid circular patterns will be covered. New Mill Level 1 toolpaths such as 2D HST Dynamic Area, Dynamic Core Mill, Island Facing and the transform toolpath will be covered. New Mill level 3 toolpaths such as HST – OptiRough and the Hybrid toolpaths will also be covered as well. Other Mastercam X6 enhancements from Mill Level 1, Mill Level 3 and Lathe will be covered in this class.

Mastercam X6 Lathe

In this course you will learn fundamentals of working with Mastercam Lathe.

You will complete a series of 2D drawing exercises covering the following functions: entity creation, geometry modification and transformation, create or move entities onto different levels, import and export files from other CAD systems.

You will become proficient in turning programming operations such as: facing, roughing, finishing, threading, grooving, drilling, and boring. You will also learn how to verify the toolpaths using a solid-based toolpath verification.

Mastercam X6 Art

Because Mastercam Art is an add-on product to Mill or Router, a foundation in Mastercam is necessary. If you do not already know Mastercam, it is recommended that you take the Mastercam Mill Level 1 Training course prior to or in conjunction with the Mastercam Art training.

Learn how to create intricate 3D sculpted images from simple 2D artwork, including importing bitmaps and transforming them into machinable surfaces.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, CNC machining experience.

Material Included:Each trainee has his/her own computer workstation. All training materials are provided.

Duration: 1 Day: Provided at In-House Solutions or at customer's site, upon availability.




Mastercam X6 Multiaxis

The Mastercam X6 Multiaxis Training Course is designed for experienced Mastercam Mill users wishing to learn in-depth multiaxis programming. The training course covers the different applications that are available by configuring the Rotary Axis Control page such as: Rotary axis positioning, 3 axis and Axis substitution. The training course will also cover the Multiaxis Classic family toolpaths: Rotary, Curve, Swarf, Flow, Msurf, Port and Drill/Circle Mill. Specific parameters such Cut patterns, Tool Axis Control, Limits, Collision Control, Linking and more will be described in detail. The more advanced toolpaths from the Custom Applications, Wireframe and Surface/Solids families, with their extra options for tool axis orientations and collision control, will also be included. Additionally, the training course describes how to verify the toolpaths using the new machine simulation module that combines both toolpath backplot mode and material removal mode with collision detections.




Mastercam X6 Solids

This introduces you to powerful solid modeling for practical design.

You will learn modeling techniques like revolved, extrude, lost, and sweep commands. You will learn how to modify the solid using filleting, chamfering and shelling features and how to reorder an edit operations using the history tree. You will also learn to use Boolean features, such as addition and subtraction.

Prerequisite: Mill L3 Training or equivalent knowledge.

Material Included: Each trainee has his/her own computer workstation. All training materials are provided.

Duration: 1 Day (8 hrs)




Mastercam X6 2D High Speed & FBM Toolpaths

This course is design for Mastercam Mill Level 1 users, whishing to learn in depth the more efficient High Speed toolpaths. These toolpaths are optimized for high speed and hard milling. They are available for use in a 2D environment with Mill Level 1 and higher. The training will explain specific parameters for 2D High Speed toolpaths such as Cut parameters and Linking parameters. You will also learn Mastercam's Feature Based Machining (FBM) that eliminates the manual processes involved in identifying features for programming milling and drilling operations on solid parts.

Prerequisite: All trainees are required to have a machining background and understand Mastercam X platform.

Duration: 1 day - 8:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Materials: Each trainee has his/her own computer workstation. All training materials are provided.




Robotmaster

This four day training course is designed to familiarize users with the Robotmaster interfaces, robot simulation and offline programming. By the end of the course, trainees will know how to create robot programs offline and run them on their robot. The course has two main components; CAD/CAM and Offline Programming
*note: Mastercam Training will be needed, number of days to be determined based on Robotmaster application.

CAD/CAM

In the first two days of training, the student shall learn: Mastercam interface and functionality, CAD skills and model manipulation (2D and 3D Design), 3-axis toolpath generation, basic 5axis toolpaths.

Offline Programming

The third and fourth day of training focuses on robot specific operation: Coordinate systems, defining user frames and tool TCP, home positions, safe moves, tool control, motion parameters, axis configuration, Simulation interface and control, code generation. Emphasis is given relating material to trainees actual robot application.

Prerequisites/Corequisites: Robot operation and teach pendant programming experience, Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows®

Duration: 2-4 Days (16-32 hours)




Mastercam X6 Surface High Speed Toolpaths

This course is design for experienced Mastercam Mill users.

You will focus on more advanced Surface Finishing and Roughing High Speed Toolpaths. They are designed to produce the smoothest, most efficient tool motions when machining surface models (or solid faces). You will learn how to configure the toolpaths to reduce the impact of corners and sharp angles to maintain a constant load on the tool.

Prerequisite: All trainees are required to have a machining background and understand Mastercam X platform.

Duration: 1 day - 8:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Materials: Each trainee has his/her own computer workstation. All training materials are provided.
