This document will help you register the licenses for following Moldplus products for single license on a HASP or WIBU (Software) Single license from Mastercam:
- Moldplus CAD translator for Mastercam (product that allows the CAD imports for CATIA V6, V5, V4, Siemens NX and JT, ProE/Creo and STEP formats)
AND/OR - Moldplus Software V11.x for Mastercam
AND/OR - MBD License registration
Click on the appropriate link to get to the appropriate product registration process.
Network or WiBU Network (Software) Licenses require a different license registration process for all Moldplus products. Click here to go this section directly.
Moldplus Server V6 needs to be installed FIRST on your system where the NetHasp or WIBU NETWORK License Manager is installed and the XML license registered on the Moldplus Server.
If you are using a NETHASP SIM and had the Moldplus Server 5.4 configured, you can continue using that solution. However, updating to the latest Moldplus Server V6 is recommended.

License registration for NETWORK Licenses (NETHASP SIM or WIBU (Software)) for Moldplus CAD Translator and Moldplus software.
If you purchased Moldplus or the Moldplus CAD translator for the WIBU NETWORK or NetHasp SIM, the licensing is managed by the Moldplus Server V6.x.
NOTE: If you are testing Moldplus products with a TEMPORARY license for the NETWORK license, you can register the XML license on the local client computer. However, permanent XML license files can only be registered on the Moldplus Server!
WARNING:
- Ensure that the Moldplus Server V6 is properly configured, the XML license is registered with the Server and the licenses active on the Server that it is installed on. For details on this, please review the Moldplus Server V6 documentation.
- Ensure that the Moldplus Server is installed on the same computer as the WIBU Server or the location where the Mastercam SIM is physically connected.
- The WIBU Server computer has to be different from the client computer!
Important:
- Permanent Moldplus XML license file needs to be updated or registered ONLY on the Moldplus Server.
- If you are updating a license with maintenance, follow these steps on the Moldplus Server:
- Launch the Moldplus Server Manager.
- Click on Register License from the Moldplus Server Manager.
- The license is registered and the XML file is stored to the \Users\Public\Documents\Moldplus\Moldserv\ folder.
- If there was an old license, it is automatically backed up to a \licensesBackup\ folder under the same \Moldserv\ folder.
- The Moldplus Server will be updated with the new license and continue running without interrupting end user work.
IF you are installing for the first time, from the client system, when you click on the “Open Moldplus License Manager” icon from the Settings, Hasp/NetHasp tab from the CAD translator, the dialog will search for the Moldplus Server 6 and automatically register the licenses.
A new file is created under the C:\MOLDSERV\ folder called MOLDSERV.DAT. This file contains a one line (text only) information with the following details – [1] Mastercam Network SIM number, [2] Server Port, [3] Server IP and [4] Server name. On some systems due to security reasons, this file and folder may not get automatically created. In this case, create the folder and file manually on the C:\ drive.
If the Server is NOT FOUND, is NOT RUNNING or a PERMANENT network license was attempted to be registered on the client computer, the following details and warnings will be presented.
Once the Moldplus Server is identified and the Licenses active, you will see the following details relative to the products you have licensed on the client computer.
You will notice the total number of licenses available and the licenses currently in use by other users on the network.
You are now ready to use Moldplus and/or the CAD translator! Click on Close from the above dialog and exit the Settings dialog to start using the translator.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You can identify the Server using the Server name or IP address. The Server name takes precedence. You can also enter 0.0.0.0 for the IP address to see if the IP is automatically identified. If your server IP address is always changing, the Server name will always be the reference.
