This course provides thorough and comprehensive training for Mastercam Lathe. You will learn how to create geometry and lathe toolpaths.
OVERVIEW
The course starts with an introduction to the Mastercam user interface. You will learn how to create basic geometry, set the part stock and the chuck, and generate lathe toolpaths such as Face, Rough and Finish. You will complete a series of 2D drawing exercises and learn more advanced geometry concepts such as geometry modification and transformation as well as levels. Drilling and ID roughing and finishing will also be covered. You will become proficient in turning operations such as: grooving, threading, and cut-off. You will also learn how to verify the toolpaths using a solid-based toolpath verification.
Part Handling toolpaths such as Stock flip, Stock advanced, Tailstock advanced and Stock transfer will also be covered in this course. You will learn how to import and export files from other CAD systems. More specialized toolpaths such as Dynamic, Plunge turning, Prime turning and Custom thread toolpaths as well as how to create a custom tool and a 3D tool will also be taught in this course.
Prerequisites: CNC machining experience & basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
