This course provides thorough and comprehensive training for Mastercam Mill 2D. At the end of the course, trainees will know the most efficient and effective programming methods.
The course starts with an introduction to the Mastercam user interface. You will learn how to create basic geometry, set the part stock, and generate drilling and contour toolpaths. More advanced geometry concepts such as geometry modification and transformation as well as levels are covered in this class.
Solid modelling and how to use extrude command to create a body, cut pockets or add bosses will be explained. You will create different types of holes and learn how to fillet or chamfer solid edges. In this class, you will also learn how to import wireframe geometry or a solid and then machine it. You will learn how to merge a vise and align the part in it. Drilling, tapping, thread milling, contouring, pocketing, circle milling and facing toolpaths will all be covered. You will also learn how to use model chamfer and chamfer drill toolpaths when machining a solid.
The 2D High Speed toolpaths such as dynamic mill, dynamic rest mill, peel mill and blend mill will be covered in this class. These toolpaths are specially designed to produce the smoothest, most efficient tool motions and are optimized for high speed and hard milling.
Prerequisites: CNC machining experience, basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
