Carousel Project

The Carousel Project will feature Rotation Analysis, Building the Carousel and Additional STEM activities.  The project begins with a review of the Rotation Analysis concepts.  Students will then be exposed to designing and manufacturing a Carousel followed by completing hands-on STEM-oriented activities, research and journal writings to enhance literacy skills.

Catapult Project

The Catapult Project will feature Force and Newton laws, Building the Catapult and Additional STEM activities. The project begins with a review of physics’ concepts related to Force and Newton’s laws of motion.  Students will then be exposed to designing and manufacturing a Catapult followed by completing hands-on STEM-oriented activities, research and journal writings to enhance literacy skills.

The Ruler Project will feature Basic Measurement, Building the Ruler and Additional STEM activities.  The project begins with a review of mathematical concepts related to measurement and then describes the tools used in everyday measurement.  Students will then be exposed to designing and manufacturing a ruler followed by completing hands-on STEM-oriented activities, research and journal writings to enhance literacy skills.

Our STEM Curriculum combines the efforts of three influential authors

Dr. Stephanie Kaye Holmquist is President and CEO of Holmquist Educational Consultants, Inc., a national career and technology education consulting firm in business since 1998. She received a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida in Career and Workforce Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus on Educational Robotics.

Jonathon Schwartz graduated from the University of California, Davis and worked in industry for years before returning to Harvard University for a Masters in Math Education.

Mariana Lendel has a Bachelor Degree from Transilvania University of Brasov, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the Precision Mechanics. Mariana has over ten years of experience as a CNC programmer and for over fifteen years, Mariana has been a Mastercam instructor and the sole author of all Mastercam Training materials developed by In-House Solutions.
